Kang In part of a commitment to young talent
One of the cornerstones of Meriton Holdings' project since their arrival at Valencia CF as majority shareholders has been a commitment to young talents from the VCF Academy system. One such example has been the career to date of Kang In, who at the age of just 18 years old has already participated in the Group Stage of the UEFA Champions League.
His first appearance for the club in the top European competition came earlier this season, on September 17th, 2019, when Valencia CF beat Chelsea 0-1 at Stamford Bridge. It made him the youngest South Korea-born player to feature in the Champions League, at 18 years, 6 months and 28 days, breaking a record set by Jeong Woo-Yeong.

This season Kang In achieved another milestone, scoring his first LaLiga goal. It came against Getafe CF, and marked a further record for the club: He is the youngest foreign player ever to score for Valencia CF in the Spanish top tier.
The VCF Academy product continues to make progress at the highest level, and his number of minutes for the first team this term has already exceeded that of his debut season.
On Matchday 35, Kang In scored the goal that clinched Valencia CF's important victory against Real Valladolid at Mestalla. The 2-1 win keeps the team alive in the fight to qualify for next year's European competition.
